This is probably the easiest of all our moulded candles to make and one of the most satisfying. Perfect for you to create your own candles, perfect as a gift.
With this kit, you can make 4 pillar candles, each of which stands 10cm (4 inches) high and 6cm (2.5 inches) across the base. They are perfect as a centrepiece for your dinner table or mantelpiece or as a gorgeous way to spread one of the lovely optional scents around the house. And they burn for 40 HOURS! Each!
This kit is based on our Eco-Soya Wax which, as the name suggests, is wax made from soya beans. This is considered by some a better choice for the environment but the main benefit is that it makes a harder candle which burns longer than a paraffin candle of equivalent size. We have tested these and they burn for at least 40 hours each. We have extensively tested wicks and have found the perfect fit for this mould and wax combination. The mould is hard-wearing so you can make more candles by buying one of our economically priced refill kits.
The kit contains:
- Long life plastic mould - (similar model on sale in HobbyCraft at £14.99)
- 900g (almost 2lbs!) EcoSoya Pillar Blend wax (this would cost at least £12.49 on its own to buy from HobbyCraft)
- 1 metre (3 feet+) Eco Wick
- Wick Pin
- Mould sealer
- Full illustrated instructions
In its standard form this kit makes white, unscented pillar candles as shown in the photo. If you'd like a red candle, for example, simply add the appropriate FREE dye using the options box above - you can also create room-scenters by choosing a scent oil at a discount.

Recieved in good order. Great packaging. 100% service from Peta. Not had time yet to start making the candles but I'm sure they will turn out fantastic. Also, the free rose scent ordered is absolutely divine smelling. V. strong so go easy when adding.

I brought this kit and have so far made two pillar candles. i am so pleased with the kit and think it was excellent value for money. It was wrapped so beautifully in pink tissue paper, which was a lovely touch.
I picked the blue dye and have to say I am so glad with my choice. The colour blue varies so much dependant on how much you use at a time (from a rich blue to a creamy pale blue) it really is like having more than one colour dye in one. I picked a lavender scent and it smells gorgeous.
I will definitely be coming back to buy more refills and more lovely colours and scents.
Great hobby and so easy to do.

Really pleased and very pleasantly suprised at how easily the candle slipped from the mould when set.I have given the first candle away as a Christmas present and it was very well recieved

The kit is great and the finished candles are a good size. However when the candle is burned it does get a bit messy

Very nice kit, easy to use and the instructions are easy to follow. Candles burn really nicely.
It lost a star because holding back some wax to top up later as instructed left me with a slightly different coloured stripe round the bottom. Not sure why.
Otherwise it is great.
Note from MYOC - this problem is usually caused by pouring the two sections of wax at a different temperature. A thermometer helps when candle making as it allows the wax in the second/third 'top up' pours to be made at the same temperature as the original.

This is a simple straightforward kit to use and if you have never made candles before you will be surprised at just how easy it is! The candles look great natural but I had decided to add a dye and cinnamon scent to my order and felt that these gave the finished product just that little bit extra sparkle and fantastic smell!
